Rockets to Compete at Auburn's Tiger Invitational This Week

Toledo to play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday
TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's golf team is in Alabama this week for the Tiger Invitational presented by Jason Dufner. The tournament will be held on Monday-Tuesday, March 11-12 at the Auburn University Club in Auburn, Ala. A shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. CT will be held each day at the par-72, 7,591-yard course.
The Field
The host Tigers are ranked No. 2 in the nation, and the Rockets are ranked a Mid-American Conference-best No. 75 in the latest NCAA computer rankings. UT will be joined by fellow MAC members Ball State and Northern Illinois in the field along with East Carolina, Elon, FGCU, Florida Atlantic, Georgia State, Jax State, Kennesaw State, Lamar, Lipscomb, Richmond, Southern Miss, UNCW, and Wichita State.
This Week's Lineup
The Rockets' lineup will include senior Barend Botha at No. 1, senior Jamie Tofte Nielsen at No. 2, senior Palmer Yenrick at No. 3, senior NJ Botha at No. 4, and sophomore Mads Jensen at No. 5. Junior CJ van Wyk is competing as an individual.
Barend Botha leads the team with a 70.0 stroke average and is followed by Nielsen (71.8), NJ Botha (72.4), Yenrick (73.1), and Jensen (73.5).
Last Time Out
Toledo finished with a team score of three-over par 867 at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate on Feb. 26-28 to tie for 14th place out of 22 teams.
