TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's golf team opens its spring season in Las Vegas next week when it competes in the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate.

The tournament will be held on Monday-Wednesday, Feb. 26-28 at the Reflection Bay Golf Club in Henderson, Nev. Tee times will begin each day at 8:00 a.m. PT on the par-72, 7,204-yard course.

The Field
The Rockets are ranked a Mid-American Conference-best No. 61 in the latest NCAA Men's Golf rankings and will be competing against a 22-team field that includes nine other schools ranked in the Top 100. No. 37 USF is the highest-ranked team in the field with others in the Top 100 including No. 45 VCU, No. 49 Long Beach, No. 55 Middle Tennessee, No. 62 Stetson, No. 78 Arkansas State, No. 81 Little Rock, No. 82 UNC Wilmington, and No. 100 North Texas. Also participating is UAB, Central Arkansas, DePaul, Kansas City, Louisiana, New Mexico State, Northern Illinois, Santa Clara, South Alabama, Southern Illinois, Texas State, and Utah Tech.

This Week's Lineup
The Rockets' lineup will include senior Barend Botha at No. 1, senior Jamie Tofte Nielsen at No. 2, senior NJ Botha at No. 3, senior Palmer Yenrick at No. 4, and sophomore Mads Jensen at No. 5.

Barend Botha leads the team with a 69.7 stroke average and is followed by NJ Botha (71.0), Nielsen (71.6), Yenrick (73.1), and Jensen (73.7).

Fall Recap
Toledo's fall was highlighted by a pair of top finishes at the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational and the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate.

The Rockets finished in second place at Quail Valley one stroke behind USF with a school-record 54-hole total of 37-under par 827. That total was eight shots lower than its previous record set at Quail Valley in 2022. Toledo finished third at the Bank of Tennessee event with a two-under par 849 that was won by No. 14 East Tennessee State.
 
Barend Botha registered three Top 10 finishes, including a first-place tie with Palmer Yenrick at Quail Valley with a school-record 13-under par 203.
