First-place Toledo puts six-game winning streak on the line on Saturday

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's basketball team will put its six-game winning streak on the line when the Rockets head to Bowling Green for the second installment of the Battle of I-75 on Saturday (6:00 p.m./ESPN+).

Toledo won the first meeting with the Falcons, an 82-70 win at Savage Arena on Feb. 3. BGSU leads the all-time series, 45-43, but Toledo has won the last three contests.

Toledo enters Saturday's game tied for first in the MAC standings, sharing the top spot with Ball State (21-3, 10-1 MAC). Bowling Green (12-10, 6-5 MAC) is in fifth place.

Last Time Out
Toledo is coming off a 72-57 win vs. ULM in a MAC-Sun Belt Challenge game at Savage Arena last Saturday. Toledo won the first game of the challenge at James Madison, 60-49, on Nov. 8.

The victory was the sixth straight for Toledo (18-4, 10-1 MAC). Sammi Mikonowicz led Toledo with 13 points, followed by Quinesha Lockett and Sophia Wiard with 12 points each, and Khera Goss with 10 points.

The Rockets shot 24-of-58 (41.1%) from the field and was 15-of-20 from the free throw line (75.0%). Toledo held ULM to just 20-of-60 (33.3%) from the field and 7-of-23 (30.4%) from long range.

The Rockets are 76-15 (.835) since the start of the 2021-22 season, 37-4 (.902) at home, 30-7 (.810) on opponents' home courts and 9-4 (.692) on neutral floors.
Toledo's 76 wins over the past three seasons ranks 10^th nationally among all Division I schools.
Since the start of the 2021-22 season, Toledo is 45-4 in conference play. UT is 10-1 this year, was 16-2 a year ago, and 19-1 in 2021-22.
UT is 23-1 at home in MAC play over the last three seasons (with 19 straight MAC home wins) and 22-3 on the road.
Quinesha Lockett's 2,236 points ranks her second all-time at UT and ninth among active Division I players in career scoring.
Sophia Wiard has played a school-record 145 games in her career to rank second among active MAC players behind Ball State's Annie Rauch (146). Wiard's 1,555 points ranks 10th all-time at UT.
Wiard is having the second-best three-point shooting season ever by a Rocket, having connected on 42-of-95 (44.2%) three-pointers. Courtney Risinger holds the single-season school record for three-point field goal percentage with a 45.0% mark in the 2001-02 season.
Wiard has been even better from three-point range in MAC play, shooting 57.4% (27-of-47) from beyond the arc.
Sammi Mikonowicz is Toledo's 33rd 1,000-point scorer in program history. She now has 1,023 career points, joining teammates Quinesha Lockett and Sophia Wiard in the 1,000 Point Club at Toledo. She also ranks seventh with 820 rebounds and is 14 away from passing Latoja Harris (833 from 1991-94) for sixth place. The all-time leader is Angela Drake (1,087 from 1993-97).
Hannah Noveroske is shooting 65.0% (39-of-60) from the floor in MAC play.
Toledo is the top free throw shooting team in the MAC, ranking first with a 75.4 FT%. Sophia Wiard is UT's top free throw shooter (88.2%) and is second in the MAC.
Toledo leads the league in scoring defense (60.0) and ranks third in scoring offense (71.0).
