Punter set career highs in punting average and longest punt on Tuesday
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference has awarded sophomore punter Emilio Duran the league's Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 12 on Friday.

Duran was significant in helping Toledo in the field position game in the Rockets' 37-10 victory over Central Michigan on Tuesday. On his four punts, he averaged 46.0 yards per punt to set a new career-high and put one punt inside the 20.

Late in the first half, Duran booted a career-long 70-yard punt from UT's seven-yard line which flipped the field. The punt set up a Nasir Bowers pick-six which extended the lead to 24-3 and created an important momentum swing in the final minute of the first half. Toledo would come up with another turnover and convert a field goal to claim a 27-3 lead at halftime.

Duran's 70-yard punt was also the longest in the MAC this season.

The Ottawa Hills, Ohio native earned Toledo's third MAC Special Teams Player of the Week honor this season. Toledo has taken seven weekly awards in total from the conference in 2024.

The Rockets (7-3, 4-2 MAC) will host Ohio (7-3, 5-1 MAC) in a key matchup on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday's game will air on ESPN2.
