TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's and women's cross country teams look to build on their Mid-American Conference championships when they compete in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships on Friday, Nov. 15 at the Silver Creek Metro Park in Norton, Ohio. The women's 6K race is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. with the men's 8K race following at 12:00 p.m.

The top two teams in each regional meet will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 23 in Madison, Wis. An additional 13 schools will be selected from the nine regions as at-large teams. The top four individuals to cross the finish line and the top two at-large racers not competing on a team will also advance to the National Championship. Toledo's womens have qualified for the NCAA Championships five times in program history with the last appearance in 2022, while the men are seeking their first team appearance in the national meet.

The women's team won their 10^th overall and fourth consecutive conference title in Muncie, Ind. on Nov. 2. Redshirt freshman Mercy Kinyanjui was the individual champion with a final time of 20:13.91 while teammate Laura Nicholson finished in second place. Kinyanjui, Nicholson and Lou Trois (5th place) all earned First Team All-MAC honors while Lianna Surtz (10th place) and Melody Jebiwot (14th place) were named to the Second Team All-MAC. Andrea Grove-McDonough was named the MAC Women's Coach of the Year for a fourth time.

Toledo women's cross country enters the race as the No. 4-ranked team in the Great Lakes Region and is receiving votes in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Coaches Poll.

The Toledo men's cross country team won their first-ever MAC Championship in Muncie, Ind. on Nov. 2. Freshman Dominic Serem took first place with a time of 23:20.28, becoming the second individual champion in program history. Joad Martinho (5^th place) and Serem earned First Team All-MAC honors while Joshuah Taylor (12^th place) and Loann Brelivet (14^th place) were named to the Second Team All-MAC. Associate Head Coach Tito Medrano earned his second consecutive MAC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year award.

Toledo men's cross country is the No.10-ranked team in the Great Lakes Region.
