Toledo Picked First in MAC Preseason Coaches Poll

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's tennis team was picked to repeat its sweep of the Mid-American Conference regular season and tournament titles in the annual preseason coaches poll, the league announced on Wednesday.

Coaches from the six teams in the league picked Toledo and Western Michigan to win the regular season with 22 points apiece. The Rockets received three first-place votes, the Broncos received two first-place votes, and Ball State received the final vote. Toledo was chosen to win the MAC Tournament Championship with three votes.

Toledo was crowned co-regular season champions with WMU in 2023 and took home its first tournament title in 50 years in an epic 4-3 victory over the Broncos in Kalamazoo, Mich.

All six MAC men's teams take the court this weekend, officially starting the 2024 season, with newcomer UIC joining the league this season. The 2024 MAC Champion will be crowned at the MAC Tournament, hosted by Toledo on Saturday-Sunday, April 20-21.

Toledo (0-1) has three tough road opponents this weekend, starting with Illinois on Saturday, followed by a doubleheader with Butler and IUPUI on Sunday.
