Incoming guard will have two years of eligibility remaining
TOLEDO, Ohio – Head coach Tricia Cullop announced the addition of Rhode Island transfer Emmi Rinat to the Toledo women's basketball program today.
Rinat, a six-foot guard who hails from Zafririm, Israel, will have two years of eligibility remaining.
"We are so excited to have Emmi Rinat join our program," Cullop said. "Danielle Page and I watched her play a few years ago at FIBA 16U's in Bulgaria and were very impressed. She has nice height and length for a perimeter player and is a great shooter. When she visited, she was also a great fit with our players and strong team culture. With the graduation of Justina King and Jayda Jansen, signing another scorer was a priority."
Rinat appeared in 62 games for Rhode Island over the last two seasons, averaging 4.1 PPG in 14.3 MPG. She had five double-digit scoring efforts this past season, including a season-high 23 points on two occasions. Rinat poured in 23 points vs. Hartford in non-conference action and also scored 23 points in a road game at 2023 A10 Tournament Champion Saint Louis.
Rinat will also play for the U20 Israeli National Team this summer and will be trying out for the Israeli Senior National Team, which will be competing in the FIBA European Championships. She has prior experience with the Israeli National Team, playing for the U14 squad in 2017, the U16 team in 2018 and 2019, and the Senior National Team in 2020.
