Tod Kowalczyk Named Finalist for Skip Prosser Man of Year Award

Rockets' head coach has guided UT to three outright MAC titles and 72 wins over last three years
BOSTON, Mass. - University of Toledo head coach Tod Kowalczyk has been named a finalist for the Skip Prosser Man of the Year award for a third-straight season.
Kowalczyk has guided the Rockets to a 25-6 overall record, a win total that is tied for third in program history. Toledo also has become the first current Mid-American Conference program to ever win three consecutive outright league titles. In addition, UT's 72 victories over the last three years rank 10th nationally.
Kowalczyk and the Rockets will bring a school-record 15-game winning streak into this week's MAC Tournament, an unbeaten stretch that is tied for first in the country. Toledo ranks second in the nation with 85.7 ppg and a 40.5 three-point FG% as well as in the Top 10 in five more categories.
Off the court, Kowalczyk has served as the chair for the NCAA's Division I Men's Basketball Ethics Coalition and was given the Donate Life Champion Award, which recognizes members of the athletic community who have made a significant impact on organ, eye and tissue donation.
Named after the late Skip Prosser, who died suddenly in 2007 while serving as the head coach at Wake Forest, the award is presented annually to those who not only achieve success on the basketball court but who also display moral integrity off it as well. Prosser posted a career record of 291-146 in 14 seasons as a head coach at Loyola, Xavier and Wake Forest.
