Rockets Finish Day Two of Postseason Competition

Kennedy Lovell takes 19th in the 200 Freestyle at CSCAA National Invitational Championships
TOLEDO, Ohio – Kennedy Lovell led the way for a group of seven swimmers from the Toledo women's swimming & diving team on the second day of competition at the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of American (CSCAA) National Invitational Championships on Friday in Elkhart, Ind.
Additionally, Madison Giglio ended her season with a 29th-place finish on the one-meter board at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships on Friday in Bloomington, Ind, scoring a 232.40 in the prelims. Giglio did not advance to the finals, thus drawing an end to her season.
Lovell, Paula Pavillard-Salvador and Janne Slegers all competed in individual events and two Toledo relay teams competed on Friday afternoon. Lovell was the only Rocket to advance to the finals when she swam a 1:49.30 in the prelims of the 200 freestyle. She ended the night with a 19th-place finish with a time of 1:50.15. Slegers swam the same event, touching the wall at a personal-best time of 1:49.64 but did not advance to the finals.
Pavillard-Salvador swam a 4:28.67 in the prelims of the 400IM to match her PR time.
The Toledo 'A' team of Madeline Blakely, Alexis Schrecongost, Pavillard-Salvador and Lovell swam a 1:47.17 in the 200 Medley Relay. The Midnight Blue and Gold ended the night with a 29-place finish in the 800 Freestyle Relay, by Lovell, Slegers, Lindsey Creek and Molly Pressler with a time of 7:37.44.
The last day of competition at the CSCAA NIT will be held on Saturday, starting with prelims at 9:30 a.m. followed by final races at 6:00 p.m.
