Toledo’s 800 freestyle relay finishes sixth and swims a season-best time of 7:18.89
OXFORD, Ohio – The Toledo women's swimming & diving team swam two relays to open the first day of competition at the 2023 Mid-American Conference Championships Wednesday night in the Nixon Aquatic Center in Oxford, Ohio.
Leading off the night was the 200 medley relay, swam by Sydney Conrad, Alexis Schrecongost, Ashley LeFever, and Lucie Morris. The Toledo 'A' team finished seventh with the second-fastest time this season, touching the wall at 1:44.73.
The second relay of the night was the 800 freestyle, swam by Janne Slegers, Kennedy Lovell, Lauren Kilgore and Nejla Karic. The Rockets finished sixth with a season-best time of 7:18.89, just five seconds off of the school record.
Competition continues Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with prelims followed by five championship events beginning at 6:00 p.m., the first being the 500 freestyle.
