Sophomore transfer will join the Rockets in January 2024
TOLEDO, Ohio – Head Coach Al Wermer announced the addition of sophomore transfer Hanamichi Carvajal to the Toledo men's tennis team. Carvajal will join the Rockets' roster in January 2024 before the first match at Indiana on Saturday, Jan. 13.

About Hanamichi:
Head Coach Al Wermer on Hanamichi Carvajal: "Hanamichi is going to bring a lot of experience and energy to our program. Coming off a junior college national championship, he will give us some more championship experience, and we're very excited to welcome him."

About Hanamichi:
- Helped Cowley College capture the 2023 NJCAA Division I Men's Tennis National Championship, the program's first title since 1991. Individually finished runner-up at the No. 4 singles court for the second-straight season.
- Helped Cowley College (KS) capture back-to-back NJCAA Regional IV Tennis Championships. He won the No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles courts at the 2023 tournament.
- Was ranked No. 1 in 16U in his home country of Chile.
