Exciting promotions and new gameday enhancements highlight 14-game home schedule
TOLEDO, Ohio – Following a season that saw the Rockets win their second-straight MAC title while drawing 4,178 fans per game, the University of Toledo Athletic Department has announced its fan experience enhancements and promotional schedule for the 2023-24 women's basketball season.
Toledo's home opener is set for this Sunday, Nov. 19 vs. Cincinnati. Last season, UT led the MAC in attendance for the 32nd- straight year and ranked in the Top 30 in attendance nationally for the 10th time in the last 11 seasons. On the court Toledo turned in one of the best seasons in program history, posting a 29-5 record and advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017, where it upset No. 5 seed Iowa State in the First Round.
Â
Gameday enhancements will be highlighted by a new special effects LED light system and specially-themed games. Enhancements will also include additional points of sales and new concessions offerings, relocation of Rocky's Locker (Athletics' official apparel store), special giveaways, additional in-game elements, and more. Â
Â
The new LED light system will help elevate the game presentation during player introductions, halftime, key breaks in the action, post-game, and will be an additive feature for special events held in Savage Arena.Â
Â
In addition, gold shirts will go to Rocket students as a part of a Gold Rush Game vs. Cincinnati (Nov. 19) and be available for fans to purchase. Bucket hats will be given away to students prior to senior day at the Kent State game (March 9).
Â
The remainder of the home schedule will feature more fan-friendly events, including theme nights, giveaways, and special offers.
Â
In addition to the promotions, Rocket fans will also be able to utilize 'social proof' locations for shareable photos. Rocky's Locker will be located on the concourse to make for a more convenient shopping experience during our home games. There is also a 'First Rocket' fan experience for individuals attending their first Toledo Basketball game.
