ATHENS, Ohio – Sophomore
Kaema Amachree's first-half goal was enough for Toledo to stump Ohio in a 1-0 shutout on Thursday afternoon. The Rockets' win is their fourth shutout of the year and second in a row following a 1-0 win vs. Central Michigan last Sunday.
"I am very proud of the group against a very good team," Head Coach
Mark Batman said. "Winning on the road is really hard and it just needs to be effective. The girls worked through a lot of pressure in the second half and they held together. I am very happy for them. We told them to enjoy it tonight, and then on to the next game on Sunday. We need to respond on Sunday and continue to want more from the season."
Amachree's goal, just Toledo's second shot of the afternoon, was set up by junior
Olivia Dault in the 21
st minute. The Rockets' defense and redshirt freshman goalkeeper
Brielle Young held off the Bobcats the rest of the way to secure the 1-0 shutout. Young made six saves en route to her fourth shutout of the year.
