Rocket Week Returns to Kick Off 2022-23 Season

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo and the City of Toledo are once again partnering for "Rocket Week" to kick off another year of Rocket Athletics and the 2022-23 academic year.
Rocket Week is a series of special events leading up to the home-opening football game of the Toledo Rockets, the start of the academic year and the celebration of the University's year-long sesquicentennial anniversary celebration. The Rockets host LIU at the Glass Bowl on Thursday, Sept. 1 at 7:00 p.m.
Highlighting Rocket Week are the Downtown Pep Rally on Thursday, Aug. 25 and the Flag Raising Ceremony on Friday, Aug. 26. The pep rally will be held at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday at Levis Square, and the Flag Raising Ceremony on Friday will begin at 10:00 a.m. at One Government Center. Rocket fans can be a part of Flag Friday by flying their Toledo flags at their home or business! Rocket Flags are available for purchase at the Rocket Ticket Office, online through Toledo Athletics at UTRockets.com/flag, or Rocky's Locker at Savage Arena or Rocky's Locker online at utrockets.com/rockyslocker.
On-campus events include the CAP Carnival on Friday, Aug. 26 and a pep rally at Centennial Mall on Wednesday, Aug. 31.
Throughout Rocket Week, and especially on Rocket Thursday, fans are encouraged to wear their Toledo gear or school colors (Midnight Blue and Gold) in support of the Rockets. Fans can share their Toledo pride on social media by using the hashtags #RocketWeek and #TeamToledo to share photos of their Rocket flag, Rocket gear, etc. In partnership with Jupmode, we are offering a Team Toledo t-shirt for $24. Five dollars from every shirt purchased will go back to the Rocket Fund in support of our Toledo Student-Athletes. Team Toledo shirts go on sale Thursday, August 11 and can be purchased online at utrockets.com/jupmode or at a local Jupmode store.
