TOLEDO, Ohio – The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced the individual 2022 Scholar All-American team for the 2021-22 season on Wednesday. Toledo divers
Joelle Gallais and
Madison Giglio were named to the second team, the first Rockets to be honored since the 2019-20 season.
The award recognized collegiate swimmers and divers who have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at their respective national championship. Second-Team selections earn a 3.50 GPA or higher and achieve a "B" time standard for the national championship or participated in a diving zone qualification meet.
Gallais earned Scholar All-American accolades for the third time in her career, while this is the first honor for Giglio.
Both Gallais and Giglio also earned Academic All-MAC honors this season. Gallais posed a 3.729 GPA this past semester and graduated in December 2022 with a degree in bioengineering with a minor in mathematics. Giglio is a civil engineering major and posted a 3.899 GPA last semester. Â Â
As a team, the Rockets turned in the highest team GPA (3.825) of all 16 Toledo teams in the spring semester. The Rockets also earned CSCAAA Scholar All-America Honors with the second-highest GPA of all Division I women's teams.
