TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo senior Dayna Denner was named Second-Team All-MAC for her performance during the 2022 season, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.

The Brooklyn Heights, Ohio native started all 49 games for the Rockets this past season, primarily at third base. Denner led the Rockets in almost every statistical category, including a .348 batting average, a .660 slugging percentage (seventh in MAC), 10 home runs, 34 RBIs (ninth in MAC), 12 doubles (sixth in MAC). 27 walks (third in MAC), eight hit by pitches (third in MAC), 31 runs scored and 49 hits,

Denner became the Toledo career-home run leader with her 25th home run vs. Kent State on April 24, surpassing Kaitlyn Bergman (2014-19) who held the previous record at 24. 

Denner ended her career as the Rockets' all-time leader in home runs (28) and walks (60), and ranks in the top 10 in batting average (2nd/.389), slugging percentage (5th/.493) doubles (T6th/35), RBIs (7th/90) and  total bases (10th/263).

Denner was a three-time MAC Player of the Week honoree this season (Feb. 15, March 15, May 3), and was named to the Jane B. Moore Memorial All-Tournament Team. She was also one of only 30 softball players in the country to receive the 2022 Senior CLASS Award.

This is the second time that Denner has been named to the All-MAC team. In 2021 she was the MAC Player of the Year and made First Team All-MAC.
