Promise Cross Leads Heptathlon After Day One of Tiffin Invitational

TIFFIN, Ohio – Toledo sophomore Promise Cross opened Day One of the Tiffin Invitational standing in the lead of the women's heptathlon with 3,078 points. Thursday's events included the 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, and 200m.
Cross finished first in the 100m hurdles after clocking in with a personal-best 14.21. The Morehead, Ky. native took second in the high jump (1.63m) and in the 200m with a personal-best and team-best time of 25.71. She notched a fourth-place finish in the shot put at 10.08 meters. Cross sits atop in the standings of 15 competitors with 3,078 points.
Day Two of the Heptathlon will begin tomorrow with the long jump at 9:00 a.m. Field events will begin at 10:20 a.m. and running events are set to begin at noon with a rolling schedule.
