BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Toledo's women's swimming and diving team captured three podium finishes on Day Two of the Mid-American Conference Championships Thursday night.
The Rockets participated in five championship events and were highlighted by 200 Freestyle Relay team of Kennedy Lovell, Lauren Kilgore, Sydney Conrad and Ashley Lefever. They finished sixth with a season-best time and new school record of 1:32.30.
"I'm really proud of the teams' performance on the second day of competition," head coach Brie Globig said, "and to end it with breaking a school record gives us a lot of good momentum going into the next two days."
Juniors Jovana Duric and Kilgore each paced for the Rockets in individual events, Duric in the 500 Freestyle (4:55.87) and Kilgore in the 200 IM (2:01.97). The Rockets had seven season-best swims and 10 personal-best swims in the day.
Toledo sits in seventh place with a score of 107 through Day Two.
The Rockets will be back in the pool for six events tomorrow night for Day Three of the MAC Championship. Prelims begin at 10:30 a.m. and finals are scheduled to begin with the 100 Butterfly at 6:30 p.m.
