TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo swimming and diving team hosted in its final dual meet of the regular season with rival Bowling Green Saturday morning in the second installment of the annual Battle of I-75. The Rockets won five events but it was not enough in the 109-189 loss to the Falcons.

Highlighting the Rockets at the UT Student Rec Center were juniors Lauren Kilgore, Kennedy Lovell and Jovana Duric and sophomore Madison Giglio, all with at least one event win under their belt. Kilgore placed first in the 100 butterfly (57.13) and the 200 Freestyle (1:54.21), Lovell led the 100 freestyle (51.78), and Duric paced the 500 Freestyle (5:08.61).

Down the highway, Bowling Green hosted the diving portion of the dual meet. Giglio took first in the three-meter with a career-best 312.83 mark.  Both freshman Kassie Gutierrez and sophomore Ryli Harden posted personal bests on the three-meter board, with 264.00 and 247.80 marks, respectively. Giglio earned the runner-up position in the one-meter with a personal-best 273.75, while Harden recorded a personal-best mark with a 244.28 mark.

On the horizon for Toledo is the 2022 Mid-American Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Championship. The postseason meet will be held at Cooper Pool in Bowling Green, Ohio on Feb. 23-26.
