Toledo Set to Battle Missouri State on Sunday at Savage Arena

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's basketball returns home for the first time in two weeks this Sunday when it hosts Missouri State at Savage Arena. The Rockets and Lady Bears will tip off at 1:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
Toledo (5-2) was in Baltimore earlier this week to play Loyola Maryland, where it captured a 62-40 victory on Wednesday afternoon. UT held the Greyhounds to 40 points and forced 22 turnovers, both of which are season-best totals.
Quinesha Lockett paced the Rockets with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting, knocking down 3-of-4 shots from beyond the arc. Jessica Cook scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Sammi Mikonowicz added eight points and eight boards. Justina King scored nine points on 3-of-3 shooting, all of which came in the fourth quarter.
Toledo's win at Loyola extended its road winning streak to 13 games, which dates back to Dec. 29, 2021. UT's road winning streak is the longest in the nation, with only national powers South Carolina (11 games) and Stanford (10 games) having won at least 10 straight road games.
Lockett leads the Rockets in scoring and ranks fifth in the MAC, averaging 16.6 PPG. Mikonowicz is second on the team in scoring (10.1 PPG) and leads UT in rebounding, averaging 7.6 per game. Cook is close behind at 9.6 PPG and is shooting 62.2 percent from the floor.

The Lady Bears have played in each of the last three NCAA Tournaments and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen in 2019 and 2021. This season they sport a 2-3 overall record with losses against Missouri, Oklahoma State, and Middle Tennessee. Sophomore guard Isabelle Delarue leads the team in scoring, averaging 11.6 PPG, and senior guard Aniya Thomas is close behind (11.4 PPG).

- A strong defensive team all season long, Toledo held Loyola Maryland to 40 points on Wednesday and forced 22 turnovers, both of which are season-best totals for UT.
- The Rockets are one of the best teams in the country at taking care of the ball, ranking eighth in the nation in fewest turnovers per game (11.1). They also rank 15th in the country in assist/turnover ratio (1.35).
- No team in the MAC has done a better job of getting to the free throw line and making its free throws than Toledo. UT ranks first in the league in free throws per game (21.1), free throws made per game (16.0), and free throw percentage (75.7).
- Justina King has been nearly automatic at the charity stripe, knocking down 16-of-17 free throws (94.1%). King's only missed free throw attempt was her first of the season, meaning she has made 16 free throws in a row in game action.
- The Rockets rank third in the MAC in scoring margin (+10.86) and are one of four teams with an average scoring margin in double digits.
