TOLEDO, Ohio - Sophomore guard Ryan Rollins was named Mid-American Conference Co-Player of the Week on Monday, marking the third time this season he has been honored.Â
Rollins averaged 23.0 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 4.0 apg and 3.5 spg in home victories over Buffalo and Akron to help Toledo maintain its first-place standing at the top of the Mid-American Conference. Rollins also shot 51.9 percent (14-of-27) from the field and 81.0 percent (17-of-21) at the free-throw line to help the Rockets extend their winning streak to eight games.

Rollins registered a double-double in his first game of the week in Tuesday's 86-75 win over Buffalo. He tallied 25 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and four steals and registered career highs in free throws made (13) and free throws attempted (16) against the Bulls.

The Macomb, Mich. native then scored 17 of his 21 points in the final 11 minutes to help Toledo hold off Akron's rally in an 84-76 victory over the Zips on Friday. Akron cut the Rockets' lead to 72-68 with just over five minutes remaining, but Rollins responded by scoring seven of Toledo's next eight points to give the Rockets an 80-71 cushion with 1:42 left.

Rollins ranks 20th nationally with a MAC-best 20.0 ppg and also is tied for first in the league with 2.0 spg.
Toledo will be on the road at Eastern Michigan (Feb. 1) and Ball State (Feb. 4) this week before hosting second-place Ohio on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 7:00 p.m.
