BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The University of Toledo men's tennis team had its second stop on a five-game road swing on Saturday afternoon. Junior
Marko Galic recorded the Rockets' lone singles win in the 6-1 loss to Indiana.
"We're showing a lot of grit and that's really awesome," head coach
Al Wermer said. "The doubles play was a bit sloppy but we competed well. Same with singles; the longer the match went, the harder we played."
The Hoosiers got on the board with the doubles point from the wins on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts, leaving duo
Luis Kleinschnitz and
Luka Jankovic unfinished on the No. 3 court.
Toledo had a struck of luck in singles play, gaining one win out of the head-to-head matches against Indianan. Junior
Marko Galic put up a tough fight on the No. 5 court against Michael Andre, and came out victorious in back-to-back sets for the win, 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-7).
Sophomore
Pawit Sornlaksup and junior
Luka Jankovic each won their first sets on the No. 1 and No. 6 courts, but were defeated in the second and third sets.
Next up for Toledo is a trip to East Lansing, Mich. to play Michigan State and Bucknell. Those matches will take place on Saturday, Jan. 29 at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.
