TOLEDO, Ohio — A school-record 22 Toledo football players earned spots on the 2021 Academic All-MAC team, the conference office announced Tuesday. The previous high mark for the Rockets was 19 honorees in 2018.
This is the fourth Academic All-MAC selection for Tycen Anderson and Drew Rosi, the most ever by a Rocket. Three-time honorees are Nate Bauer, Carter Bradley, Luke Doerger, Bailey Flint, and Zachary Ford. Maxen Hook (pre-business) and Sean Mills (grad school-MBA) each registered perfect 4.0 cumulative grade-point averages.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. Student-athletes in their first academic year and transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
