BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University of Toledo sophomore Madison Giglio led the way for the Rockets in the one-meter dive on Friday in the opening day of the Buffalo Diving Invitational.

Giglio was the top-placing Rocket in the first event of the weekend meet, placing sixth with a score of 243.35, while senior Joelle Gallais marked 231.60 for a 10th-place finish.

In the prelims, freshman Kassie Gutierrez scored 215.05, narrowly missing the cut to move to the finals round. In addition, sophomore Ryli Harden also scored 188.75.

In attendance with Toledo at the three-day invitational are Mid-American Conference teams Buffalo, Akron, Bowling Green and Ohio.

The women's three-meter dive will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15.
