Harris, Otis Named Captains for 2021 Season

TOLEDO, Ohio - Junior Jacob Harris and sophomore Ben Otis will serve as team captains for the 2021 Toledo men's cross country team, Head Coach Andrea Grove-McDonough announced today.
Harris, a native of Toledo, was a First-Team All-MAC selection in 2020, finishing seventh at the MAC Championships and first among the Rockets. He recorded a season-best time of 24:35.4 at the meet. In 2019, Harris finished sixth overall at the MAC Championships, first for the Rockets, with a time of 25:42.3.Â
A native of Manilius, N.Y., Otis earned Second-Team All-MAC honors in 2020 following a 12th-place finish and time of 24:40.1.Â
Both the men's and women's cross country teams will kick off the 2021 campaign this Friday at the Mel Brodt Invitational in Bowling Green. The men will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by the women at 6:05 p.m.
