Rockets Heading West for Washington's Husky Invitational

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's golf team opens its 2021-22 season when it travels to the Pacific Northwest to compete against some of the nation's top programs at the University of Washington's Husky Invitational. The Rockets will be playing at the par-72, 7,135-yard Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash on Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 20-21. An 8:00 a.m. PT shotgun start will be utilized for 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.
The Field
Toledo is a part of a 16-team field that includes 10 schools that were ranked in the Top 100 of last year's Golfstat rankings. San Diego State leads the way at No. 27 followed by No. 33 Oregon State, No. 38 Washington, No. 46 Boise State, No. 53 Oregon, No. 57 St. Mary's, No. 60 Nevada, No. 66 Missouri, No. 89 Long Beach State and No. 98 Washington State. Also competing in the event are Cal Poly, Idaho, San Jose State, Seattle and Southern Miss.
This Week's Lineup
The Rockets' lineup will include sophomore Barend Botha at No. 1, senior David Amm at No. 2, sophomore Jamie Tofte Nielsen at No. 3, senior Max Siegfried at No. 4 and senior Lukas Clark at No. 5. Botha paced the Rockets last year with a 73.5 stroke average en route to earning First-Team All-MAC and MAC Freshman of the Year honors.

Toledo has a quick turnaround and will be back in action next weekend when it visits Madison, Wis. to compete in Wisconsin's Badger Invitational on Sunday-Tuesday, Sept. 26-28.
