TOLEDO, Ohio - Seniors Stephanie Sherman and Petronela Simiuc are ready to take the national stage when they head to Eugene, Ore. this week to compete at the NCAA Track & Field Championships.

Sherman will compete in the 10,000m finals on Thursday at 6:08 p.m. PT (9:08 p.m. ET), while Simiuc will run in the qualifying round of the 1500m, also on Thursday at 3:46 p.m. (6:46 ET). The finals for the 1500m will be run on Saturday.

"Our goal for Stephanie and Petra is to represent themselves well," said Head Coach Andrea Grove-McDonough. "By that I mean be involved in the race. In Stephanie's case I'd like to see her break the 34-minute mark, which I believe she is fit enough to do. She's run a lot of 10Ks at the end of the season but I think she is ready to do that. I'd love to see her finish as high as she can and make second-team All-American. For Petra, we'd like to see her make the finals. Once she's there, anything can happen. She is capable of finishing in the top eight and making first-team All-American. She's been battling an injury so that will make it tougher, but she's super fit. She just needs to focus on getting into the finals."

The Championships can be seen on ESPN2 and ESPNU at times listed below. ESPN3 will cover the every event of the meet.

Sherman and Simiuc advanced to the NCAAs by qualifying at the NCAA East Regional Championships in Jacksonville, Fla. (May 27-29). Sherman finished 11th in the 10K with a personal-best time of 34:08.86, while Simiuc overcame a nagging leg injury to take ninth in the 1500m with a time of 4:14.91.
