TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's basketball team has announced that its annual Tipoff Dinner will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 6:00 p.m. in the Student Union Auditorium. A Q&A with former Notre Dame head coach Muffet McGraw hosted by former WTOL news anchor Chrys Peterson will headline the event.
McGraw retired from coaching in April 2020 after leading the Fighting Irish for 33 seasons, leading them to national championships in 2001 and 2018. She became the 13th female coach inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017 and won a total of 936 games, sixth-most all-time among Division I head coaches.
"We are excited for hold our Women's Basketball Tipoff in person this year and we are honored to feature a coaching legend," head coach Tricia Cullop said. "Coach McGraw enjoyed one of the most successful coaching campaigns in the history of our game during her tenure at Notre Dame. We are also thankful my good friend, Chrys Peterson, has agreed to do a Q&A with Coach McGraw which will be insightful and entertaining. This is a great opportunity for our fans to see our returning players and meet our newcomers. I can't wait to see our Rocket faithful at this event and in the stands this season. They are what makes Toledo special."
The cost to attend the fundraiser will be $55 per person, $100 per couple, and $10 per child (12 & under). Attendees can also purchase eight-person tables for either $500 or $1,000, the latter of which includes an autographed copy of McGraw's book Expect More!.
Attendees will be able to enjoy food donated by local restaurants and can bid on exciting prizes at a silent auction. Business casual attire is requested.
Parking will be available in Lots 10 and 13 on campus and valet parking will be available next to the Student Union in the circle on West Centennial Drive.
