Eleven Rockets Named to Indoor Track Academic All-MAC Team

TOLEDO, Ohio - The University of Toledo women's track and field team had 11 student-athletes named to the 2021 Indoor Track and Field Academic All-MAC team, the conference announced Friday.

Junior Allison Vogl led the team with a 3.985 GPA and is majoring in professional sales. Among the 11 honorees, sophomore Emily Vining (3.957) and junior Maya Hannagan (3.472) also earned Academic All-MAC in cross country and Second-Team All-MAC at the 2020 Cross Country MAC Championship Meet on Nov. 21, placing ninth and 13th, respectively.

Junior Alyssa Edwards, sophomore Paige Embaugh, junior Rayna Horner, senior Roma Lucarelli, sophomore Ava Moran, senior Hannah Sponaugle, junior Claire Stegierwald, and senior Meltem Yasar completed the list of Rockets who were named to the Academic All-MAC team. This will be the last track and field season for both Lucarelli and Yasar, as they will be graduating on May 8.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at at least 50 percent of the team's contests. Freshmen and first-year junior college transfers are not eligible.
