TOLEDO, Ohio - The University of Toledo women's track and field team will be traveling to three meets this weekend in an attempt to reach qualifying times for the NCAA East Preliminary Championships in Jacksonville, Fla. on May 27-29.

Rockets competing in sprints, jumps, and multi-events will be traveling to Orlando, Fla. on Friday to compete at the Knights Invite, April 23-24. The distance runners will be split up amongst the two other meets this weekend, the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday-Saturday, April 22-24 and the RedHawk Invitational in Oxford, Ohio on Saturday, April 24.

"It is a busy weekend for our program with the squad being split in three ways," said Head Coach Andrea Grove-McDonough. "There is a sense of urgency across the board at this point in the season as we get to the closing weekends before the MAC Championships. Some of our athletes are still looking for qualifying marks for the prelims, or an opportunity to improve upon their current marks. It's all about finding the best opportunities for all our athletes to be successful.
 
This weekend will mark the end the regular season for the Rockets. The 2021 MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio on Friday–Saturday, May 7-8. The Rockets will then host the Toledo Rocket Invitational on Saturday, May 15 as a last chance qualifier for the NCAA Prelims.
