TOLEDO, Ohio - The University of Toledo women's track and field team will compete at the Rick Erdmann Twilight in Richmond, Ky. on Friday-Saturday, April 16-17. Field events begin Friday at 10:30 a.m. with the women's hammer throw, followed by running events beginning at 11:00 a.m. Saturday's events are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
 
"It is exciting for us to be heading to EKU this weekend," said Associate Head Coach Adrian Ghioroaie. "This is the first meet of the outdoor season where we are bringing our whole team together. With the spring weather looking good, this will be a great opportunity for our student-athletes to get season and personal-best marks as we build up towards the MAC Championship and the NCAA Prelims."
 
The Rockets most recently competed at the Joe Walker Invite on April 9-10 in Oxford, Miss. Senior Petronela Simiuc finished sixth in the 1500m with a time 2:08.39, ranking her first in the MAC.  Senior Yana Khabina placed third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:00.57.
 
The men's cross country team will be running in the 5000m race on Friday. Freshman Ben Otis and sophomore Jake Rethman will be running in the 5000m invitational on Saturday.
