
Amanda Berchtold and Ryan Moody are the latest additions to the University of Toledo’s Student Athlete Academic Services (SAAS) office.
Rockets Welcome Two New Staffers into SAAS Department

TOLEDO, Ohio – Amanda Berchtold and Ryan Moody have joined the University of Toledo's Student Athlete Academic Services (SAAS) office, Associate Athletic Director for Academic Services Tony Belt announced today. Moody will serve as athletic academic coordinator and tutor coordinator, while Berchtold will be the new learning specialist and oversee the Life Skills program.
Moody comes to Toledo from Northeastern University, where he served as a postgraduate intern for various sports. His duties included weekly advising meetings, implementing learning strategies and assisting with the athletic tutorial program. He received his bachelor's degree in sport management at Endicott College, where he played on the football team. Moody earned his master's degree from the University of Tennessee. His duties at Toledo will include overseeing the academic progress for the baseball, women's cross country and women's track & field programs, as well as for several of the football student-athletes. Moody will also manage the SAAS Rocket Tutorial program.
"We are excited to have Ryan join our staff," said Belt. "His time in the athletic departments at both Northeastern and Tennessee will serve as a major asset to our SAAS team. Ryan also brings experience in tutoring and mentoring which will help boost our Rocket Tutorial Program."
Berchtold joins the Rockets after serving as an athletic academic intern at Ohio State. She received her bachelor's degree in sport management and marketing from Gannon University. Berchtold's responsibilities will include providing individualized support for student-athletes by developing various learning strategies through mentoring sessions. She will also serve as the liaison with the Student Disability Services, will be the lead advisor for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and will coordinate student-athlete development programming.

"Amanda brings experience not only as a former student-athlete but also as an assistant learning specialist working directly with an accomplished football program. She will serve as a great resource for all of our student-athletes."
