TOLEDO, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's basketball team (8-8, 4-8 MAC) will host Buffalo (10-5, 7-3 MAC) on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 5:30 p.m. at Savage Arena. The game will be available on ESPN+.
Wednesday's contest will be the first home game for the Rockets in three weeks; they have not played on their home court since a win over Northern Illinois on Wednesday, Jan. 20
Toledo is looking to snap a four-game losing skid and currently sits three games back in the standings from No. 8 seed Ball State, though the Cardinals won an earlier battle against the Rockets this season. As it stands heading into Wednesday's game, Toledo is on the outside looking in on the MAC Tournament.
The Rockets and Bulls already met once this season, a 74-65 home victory for UB on Saturday, Jan. 23. Sophomore Soleil Barnes dropped a career-high 19 points in that contest, appearing for the first time in 19 games due to an injury suffered at the end of last season. Junior Lexi Lance added a career-high 13 points in that game as well.
Last Time Out
Toledo lost in overtime at Kent State on Monday afternoon, 93-87.
UT led for nearly the entire first half and carried a nine-point lead into halftime, 39-30. Kent State fought back in the second half though and wrestled the lead away from Toledo in the fourth quarter, leading by as many as six with less than three minutes to play.
The Rockets trailed by five, 72-67, with four seconds left when sophomore Sophia Wiard nailed a three to make it a two-point game. After a Kent State free throw, Wiard took the inbounds pass with 2.3 seconds left on the clock and drilled the game-tying trey to send the game into overtime, where the Golden Flashes took an early lead they wouldn't relinquish.
