Rockets Conduct First Practice, Enjoy Beach Bash

NASSAU, Bahamas – The Toledo football team practiced on Tuesday morning, the Rockets' first of three sessions in preparation for their game against Middle Tennessee State at the Bahamas Bowl on Friday (12:00 p.m./ESPN).
The Rockets had a 90-minute workout at Davies Field in Nassau, a turf soccer field not far from Robinson Stadium, where UT will battle the Blue Raiders on Friday. The team had most of the afternoon off to enjoy Atlantis and the warm weather before gathering for a Beach Bash on Atlantis Beach. Players from both teams enjoyed food and games and ended the evening with a dance-off, which the Rockets won.
Toledo will practice tomorrow morning and again on Thursday to conclude its Bahamas Bowl prep. Wednesday's practice will precede a press conference featuring head coaches and student-athletes from both schools.

"It's a little different coming from Toledo, so we needed to get adjusted to the heat and everything, but that is going well so far. Practice went well today. Guys were flying around out there and everyone was covering their assignments. It felt good to be out there."

Of course we want to have fun while we're down here, but it's a business trip as well. I was here my freshman year and I'm happy to be back. Last time was such a great experience."

"Practice went really well. It felt nice to be back to playing out in the sun and the warm weather. I can play in all types of weather, but playing under blue skies and warm weather like this is really great. It's been pretty eye-opening for me to be able to travel out of the country and stay at a resort like this. It's truly a blessing."
