Rocket Notes
- Toledo scored 84 points in its season opener at Oakland on Tuesday. That is the most points scored in the first game of a season for UT since 2007-08, when it scored 87 points against Purdue Fort Wayne. The most points in a season opener on the road prior to Tuesday was 90 in a win at Michigan to begin the 1992-93 season.
- The Rockets are 31-15 all-time in home openers and have won four of their last five by an average of 20.3 points.
- Toledo improved to 26-22 all-time in season openers and has now won five of its last six. Under head coach Tricia Cullop, Toledo is 9-5 in season-opening games.
- Quinesha Lockett and Jessica Cook both had double-doubles in Tuesday night's win at Oakland. Lockett scored 23 points and had a career-high 12 rebounds, while Cook opened her collegiate career with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
- No other team in the MAC had multiple players with double-doubles in their season opener.
- Jessica Cook is one of six true freshman in Division I to have a double-double in the first game of the season.
- One more Cook note: her eight offensive rebounds against the Golden Grizzlies are the most by any MAC player in a game this season.
- Dating back to last season, Quinesha Lockett has scored at least 20 points in four straight games.
- Sophia Wiard led the MAC in assist/turnover ratio last season (1.9) and sits atop the league once again through one game this season. The junior guard had five assists to just one turnover against Oakland.
