Toledo Opens Mid-American Conference Competition on Saturday

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's swimming and diving team will open its Mid-American Conference competition on Saturday, Oct. 30 against defending MAC champion Buffalo.
The Rockets' meet time is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. in the Alumni Arena Pool and Natatorium.
Last Time Out
Toledo (0-1, 0-0 MAC) is coming off a season-opening 186.5-113.5 loss to Oakland. Junior freestyle swimmer Kennedy Lovell claimed two event victories for the Rockets in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Additionally, the Rockets had 10 second-place finishes and six third-place touches.
Three Rockets set new personal-best times and scores at Oakland. Juniors Lauren Kilgore in the 50 breaststroke (29.71) and Ashley Lefever in the 50 butterfly (27.05), and sophomore Ryli Harden in the three-meter dive (230.47).
About Buffalo
Buffalo won its first-ever MAC Championship title last season since winning the Mid-Continent title from 1995-98. They earned 773 points to edge out seven-time defending champion Akron by seven points. The Bulls are coming into this weekend on a clean slate along with 19 returners from the 2020-21 championship team. The Bulls participated in a non-scored event with Ivy League Cornell University on Saturday and won 16 of the 18 events.
