TOLEDO, Ohio -Â The University of Toledo softball team (9-9) heads to Madeira Beach, Fla. to compete in eight games Mar. 10 - 14, beginning with a noon game against South Dakota State on Tuesday, Mar. 10.

ABOUT TOLEDO
The Rockets are coming off of a weekend of competition at the Tennessee Tournament. Toledo fell to ETSU and Stanford twice, and also lost to host Tennessee. The Rockets brought Tennessee to its first extra inning game this season - ultimately falling to the Volunteers, 10-9, in nine innings. Junior
Dayna Denner was an offensive rock for Toledo, finishing 4-for-5 with a home run, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Senior
Morgan Paaverud also excelled at the plate by slugging her third home run of the season and adding a double among her three hits. Junior
Erin Hunt was handed her second loss of the season, allowing 14 hits over 8.1 innings while fanning 11 batters.
SCOUTING SOUTH DAKOTA STATE
Morgan DeMarais tossed a no-hitter and South Dakota State hit five home runs over two shutout victories this past Sunday. The Jackrabbit softball team opened the day with a 12-0 run-rule victory over Merrimack before taking down Ohio, 2-0. SDSU is now 13-7.
SCOUTING BUTLER
Butler is coming off a split on Sunday at the University of Memphis Tournament. The Bulldogs are now 14-7 on the season. Karli Ricketts and Loren Simpson both hit home runs for the Bulldogs, who pounded out eight hits  in its 9-3 win over Youngstown State. The Bulldogs fell 6-3 to Belmont earlier that day.
SCOUTING MERRIMACK
Merrimack is coming off of two tough losses in Florida, losing to South Dakota State, 12-0, and Ohio, 6-0. Four players earned hits for the Warriors against Ohio, as Lucy Colarusso, Jordyn Montoya, Amber Gibbons, and Danielle Carmody all reached base.
SCOUTING INDIANA
Indiana softball is coming off of a 6-1 loss to No. 4/5 Arizona at the Wildcat Invitational Sunday. Emily Goodin has pitched 11 complete games for Indiana. She has 86 strikeouts on the season with a 2.11 ERA. Bella Norton has twelve hits on the 2020 campaign, and leads the Hoosiers in walks.
SCOUTING CENTRAL CONNECTICUT STATE
CCSU is coming off a 6-2 loss to Creighton Sunday afternoon. Central trailed 3-2 heading into the final inning, but gave up three runs in the top of the seventh. Rian Eigenmann and Meg Dugas each has one run for the Blue Devils and Kaitlin Paterson had two RBIs.
SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC
Quinnipiac is coming off a split Sunday, defeating Holy Cross, 1-0, and falling to Central Michigan, 8-0. Sydney Tedim and Katherins Rodriguez will be key players for the Bobcats. Rodriguez tallied the game-winning RBI for the Bobcats, sending Tedim home on a fielder's choice.
