TOLEDO, Ohio -Â Head Coach
Joe Abraham announced on Monday that infielder
Aleah Marra (Chesterfield, Mich.)Â is transferring to the University of Toledo from Rutgers University. Marra is eligible to play for the Rockets immediately.
"Aleah started for two years in the Big Ten and brings a wealth of experience to our team," Abraham said. "She will add another excellent left-handed bat and give us more flexibility since she can play all around the infield. We don't typically look real hard at the transfer portal, but Aleah was one that was a no-brainer for us. We had seen her play in travel ball in her high school days, and she is an excellent all-around player. Her older sister played for me at Hillsdale, and I've known the family for about seven years. She is a great addition for our program."
Marra started all 24 games at second base for the Scarlet Knights last year, posting a .287 batting average (23-of-80) with five doubles, 10 RBI and nine runs scored. As a freshman, she started all 55 contests and registered a .252 hitting mark, 12 doubles, 22 RBI and 20 runs scored.
In her final season at Anchor Bay High School, Marra was named Conference MVP, County Player of the Year, All-State and Michigan High School Sports Player of the Year. She also holds single-season school records for hits, doubles, runs, home runs, and batting average, while also registering career school records for hits, doubles, runs and batting average.

Abraham also said that pitcher Ellie Price (Morenci, Mich.) will be joining the program as a recruited walk-on for the 2021-22 academic year.
