Sophomore Ramond Korir Earns Silver in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Sophomore Raymond Korir led the Rockets, placing second at the Buckeye Preview in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, with a time of 24:37.2. The Rockets posted a seventh-place team finish with 170 points.

"Obviously Raymond had a great race for us up front and he's really learning how to control his effort levels throughout a full cross country race," said head coach Andrea-Grove McDonough. "Any time you can contend for a win in a quality field like this one, it's a good day. There was definitely a lack of experience shown today with some of our younger guys. Jake Rethman is emerging as a very consistent and reliable performer for us. The main takeaway is that we have some really bright spots to build around."

Following Korir, freshman Jacob Harris stopped the clock at 25:32.4 to finish 32nd. Freshman Jake Rethman was the next Rocket across the finish line, posting a time of 26:27.0.
