Azusa, Calif. - The University of Toledo women's track and field team wrapped up competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif. on Friday after tallying two personal-bests, four MAC qualifying times, and two top-ten finishes.

Senior Jennifer Lichter kicked things off on Wednesday, landing eighth in the 10,000 meters with a time of 35:04.05. Lichter rounded out the pack that surpassed the 10K Cougar Stadium facility record of 35:12.15, which was set in 1988 by Western State's Lorie Moreno. Thursday saw freshman Claire Steigerwald post a personal-best time of 17:02.89 in the 5000 meters.

Toledo continued its strong showing in Friday's 1500m, where seniors Petronela Simiuc and Janelle Noe posted MAC qualifying times of 4:19.28 and 4:28.21, respectively, followed by junior Athena Welsh (4:35.16).

Junior Yana Khabina landed eighth in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking a MAC qualifying time of 1:01.09. Senior Nautica Hill posted a MAC qualifying time of 24.24 in the 200m. Fellow senior Christina Johnson posted a time of 25.15 and junior Atalia Lima clocked a personal-best 27.58 in the 200m. Hill also led the Rockets in the 100 meters, where she stopped the clock at 11.91. Seniors Shanice Williams and Johnson posted times of 12:30 and 12:50, respectively, in the 100m as well.  Lima posted a time of 15.97 in the 100-meter hurdles and competed in the Rockets' only field event, recording a mark of 1.61m  in the high jump.

"We had some good performances out here this weekend," said head coach Linh Nguyen. "Jennfier and Claire ran well in their races with season-best times. Petronela continued a strong season with a season-best in the 1500 meters and Yana got off to a solid start in her first hurdle race of the year. I am particularly excited about Nautica and the day she had today. To run two really good races like she did was awesome. She's having a great outdoor season and she deserves it because she works hard. We've got a couple weeks until MAC Championships, so we're going to focus on heath and fine tuning now."
