20 Rockets Earn Academic All-MAC Honors

Toledo, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's track and field team had 20 student-athletes named to the 2018-19 Women's Indoor Track & Field Academic All-MAC team, the conference office announced Wednesday.
"I'm very proud of the women who are representing our program on the Academic All-MAC team," said head coach Linh Nguyen. "Our team and entire athletic department consistently achieves at a high level in competition while also excelling in the classroom. This is further proof that these are hard-working and well-rounded women that the entire Rocket family can be proud of."
The Rockets were led by seniors Olivia Chinn, Jordan Doore, Sally Frank, Ashley Herrmann, Nautica Hill, Christina Johnson, Yana Khabina, Jennifer Lichter, Deja Martin, Janelle Noe, Madison Pierce, Petronela Simiuc, and Shanice Williams. Juniors Atalia Lima, Roma Lucarelli, Stephanie Sherman, and sophomores Morgan Dembowski, Michelle Hostettler and Riley Kwiatkowski also earned honors.
Khabina led the Rockets, posting a 3.974 GPA.
Toledo and Central Michigan share the lead for most honorees in the conference. A total of 138 student-athletes were named to the women's Academic All-MAC team.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that sport.
