Luke Knapke Named MAC West Division Co-Player of Week

TOLEDO, Ohio – Senior center Luke Knapke has been named Mid-American Conference West Division Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. Knapke's honor marks the second time he has earned the weekly accolade in his Rocket career.
Knapke averaged a double-double over the weekend with 18.0 ppg and 10.0 rpg to go along with 2.0 bpg in Toledo's victories over Robert Morris and Howard. The Maria Stein, Ohio native was efficient shooting the ball as well, posting a 52.6 FG% (10-of-19) in the paint and a 55.6 three-point FG% (5-of-9) on the perimeter.
Knapke opened the weekend with a double-double (15 points, 12 rebounds) in Toledo's 70-56 win over Robert Morris. He then tallied a season-high 21 points, eight boards and three blocked shots in the Rockets' 112-68 victory over Howard on Sunday. In Toledo's win over the Bison, Knapke became the 47th Rocket to reach the 1,000-point plateau and now has 1,008 points in his collegiate career.
Knapke and the Rockets (3-1) travel to South Bend, Ind. on Thursday, Nov. 21 to battle Notre Dame in the championship game of the Men Against Breast Cancer Invitational. Tip-off time for the contest is set for 8:30 p.m. in Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center. The contest will be televised live on the ACC Network.
