TOLEDO, Ohio - The University of Toledo women's basketball program has inked three recruits to national letters of intent for the 2020-21 season, Head Coach
Tricia Cullop announced on Wednesday.
The signees are Caily Bolser (Fairmount, Ind. - Mississinewa), Khera Goss (Indianapolis, Ind. - Ben Davis) and Halle Idowu (Oak Lawn, Ill. - Harold L. Richards).
"I'm thrilled with our 2020 recruiting class," said Cullop, a three-time Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year. "All three players add length, size, athleticism and a toughness that is a staple of our program. They are also class acts on and off the court."
A 6-foot-4 forward, Bolser averaged 13.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game as a junior at Mississinewa High School. She topped the 20-point mark six times during the year and scored a season-high 28 against both Eastbrook and Alexandria. A three-time all-conference honoree, Bolser earned Indiana Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) honorable mention Small School All-State recognition this past season. Most recently, Bolser was named to the 2019-20 Indiana Girls Basketball Watch List by
RadioTroy.com.
"Caily adds needed height to our roster, and I love the fact she can stretch defenses with her range," Cullop said. "She's also a strong rebounder and gifted shot blocker."
A 5-foot-10 guard, Goss contributed 10.7 points, 4.9 caroms, 2.4 dimes and 2.2 steals per game as a junior at Ben Davis High School. She shot 45.2 percent (113-of-250) from the field and 61.5 percent (56-of-91) from the charity stripe, en route to garnering IBCA Large School All-State accolades. A two-time all-league selection, Goss was also named to Indiana Junior All-Star Team and the Marion County Coaches of Girls Sports Association (MCCGSA) All-County Team. Most recently, she was named a 2019-20 Indiana Senior All-Star candidate. A multi-sport athlete, Goss also finished fifth in the high jump at the state championships this past spring. In addition, she captured sectional and regional titles in the high jump as a junior.
"Khera is a great athlete who can play inside or out," Cullop said. "She has good range, quickness to drive to the basket and the ability to guard multiple positions."
A 6-foot-0 wing, Idowu registered 22 points, 11.5 boards, 2.8 helpers and 3.2 thefts per contest as a junior at Harold L. Richards High School. For her efforts on the hardwood, she collected first-team all-state recognition from
The News-Gazette and honorable mention Illinois All-State Girls Class 4A honors. A three-time first-team all-league selection, Idowu enters her final prep season ranking top five in school history in career points, rebounds and assists.
"Halle is a stretch four who can shoot from beyond the arc, drive to the hole, rebound outside her area," Cullop said.
Cullop and the Rockets (1-1) will return to the hardwood on Wednesday, Nov. 20 when they travel to No. 15 Notre Dame (2-1). Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Purcell Pavilion and will be shown on ACCNX.
