How it Happened
- UW-Green Bay gave itself a scoring chance early with a single, a sacrifice bunt and another single to start the game. Allison issued a walk to load the bases with one out, but was able the escape the jam with a pair of clutch strikeouts.
- The Rockets' offense hit the ball hard in the early goings, but had nothing to show for it as UT went in order for the first three innings.
- The Phoenix third inning started with a hit batter and a one-out single before Minarchick was called upon in relief. She induced a pop out and a ground out to end the threat.
- In the fourth inning, Norwood reached on an error, but was doubled off of first when Rausch lined out to the shortstop. After working a full count, Curry put the Rockets ahead 1-0 with her first-career home run, hitting it off the parking garage beyond the left field fence.
- After two quick outs started the Toledo sixth, Norwood singled through the right side to extend the inning. Rausch then launched the third home run of her career to center field to push the lead to 3-0.
- Minarchick made the lead stand up by retiring the final 11 batters she faced.
