Toledo, Ohio - Eleven Toledo women's soccer student-athletes were named to the Mid-American Conference's Academic All-MAC team, the league announced today. UT ties Northern Illinois for second-most honorees, with Ohio and Bowling Green leading the pack with 12 honorees each.
 
Abby Demboski, Alena Sidwell, Alex Troy, Claire Cahalan, Hannah Scafaria, Kelsey Kraft, Madison Perrin, Natalie Knauf, Regan Price, Shelby Gillespie, and Sheridan Bufe represent the Midnight Blue and Gold on this year's team. This marks the third time Sidwell, Knauf, Price and Scafaria have been honored, while Bufe, Demboski, Kraft, and Perrin appear on the team for the second time.
 
"We are very proud of these 11 players for receiving this academic award from the conference," head coach TJ Buchholz said. "Our players work very hard on and off the field to succeed and this is a wonderful achievement for them."
 
A total of 113 student-athletes were named to the Academic All-MAC team, and 10 of them recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA.
 
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
