Toledo Hosts Unbeaten Dayton on Wednesday

TOLEDO, Ohio - Toledo (2-1) remains at home for a non-conference showdown at 2017 NCAA Championships participant Dayton (4-0) on Wednesday, Nov. 22. Tomorrow's match-up against the unbeaten Flyers is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Savage Arena and will be streamed live on ESPN3.

The Rockets are a stellar 114-32 (.781) in home contests in nine-plus years under head coach Tricia Cullop, including 51-16 (.761) against non-conference foes.
UT is coming off a 79-55 victory against Louisiana on Saturday at home in the consolation round of the Preseason WNIT. Junior Olivia Cunningham poured in a career-high 27 points to pace the 2017 Mid-American Conference Champions against the Ragin' Cajins, topping her previous-best effort of 24 versus Tennessee Tech on Jan. 8, 2015 at Murray State.
Senior Jay-Ann Bravo-Harriott chipped in 15 points, while redshirt freshman Tanaya Beacham had seven points, junior Kaayla McIntyre had six points and a career-high 13 boards and junior Mikaela Boyd totaled six points and a contest-best four thefts to help the Midnight Blue & Gold bounce back from a setback at No. 5 Louisville last Tuesday.
As a team, Toledo recorded season highs in overall field-goal percentage (52.6 percent , 30-of-57), three-point field-goal percentage (42.1 percent, 8-of-19) and free throw percentage (78.6 percent, 11-of-14) to run its record to 4-5 (.445) all-time in the Preseason WNIT.
The Rockets were also solid defensively against Louisiana, as they forced the visitors into turning the ball over 19 times and finished with a decisive 24-7 edge in points off miscues.
Toledo is fueled offensively by Bravo-Harriott, McIntyre and Cunningham, who are averaging 15.0 ppg, 12.3 ppg and 12.0 ppg, respectively. Bravo-Harriott is the only Rocket to score in double figures in all three games this season.
UT will face a red-hot Dayton squad that is coming off a 61-46 home triumph over Virginia on Sunday. Jayla Scaife led the way for the Flyers with 17 points and 10 boards against the ACC member Cavaliers, followed closely by Lauren Cannatelli with 14 points and two thefts off the bench. UD also received a contest-best 12 boards each from JaVonna Layfield and Alex Harris.
Toledo and UD will meet for the ninth-consecutive season and 24th time in the overall series. The Flyers lead the all-time series between the intra-state schools, 13-10, Â and have won five of the last seven match-ups. Â Â Â Â Â Â
A season ago, Toledo claimed a 76-72 victory at Dayton before 9,002 screaming fans in UD Arena to snap a four-game losing skid in the series (Dec. 9).
The Flyers also hold a slim 6-5 edge in games played against Toledo in Savage Arena. The Rockets' last home win in the series occurred on Nov. 13, 2011 when they registered a 61-51 victory. Â Â
Following tomorrow's match-up, Toledo will travel to the "Empire State" to take on Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference member Iona (0-3) on Monday, Nov. 27. The opening tip against the Gaels  is slated for Noon in the Hynes Center.
