NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Senior Stephen Watts fired a season-low two-under par 68 on Monday to help Toledo to a fifth-place showing at Notre Dame's Fighting Irish Classic on Sunday. The Rockets finished with a team score of seven-over par 847 after carding a team score two-over par 282 today at the par-70, 6,925-yard Warren Golf Course.

Host Notre Dame captured the tournament title at 18-under par 822 (272-270-280), six shots in front of runner-up Georgia Southern (274-281-273=828). The Eagles' Steven Fisk (66-71-67) and William & Mary's David Hicks (69-67-68) shared medalist honors at six-under par 204.

Watts tied for 25^th place individually at four-over par 214 and was working on a perfect scorecard with four birdies and no bogeys until registering bogeys in two of his final three holes.

Senior Colin Joseph was UT's top finisher, tying for 10^th place with an even-par 210 (69-69-72). Junior Duncan McNeill was two strokes behind Joseph at two-over par 212 (70-69-73) and tied for 17^th place.

Rounding out the Rocket lineup was freshman Dylan Van Fossen tied for 37^th place at seven-over par 217 (72-76-69) and sophomore Grant Godfrey alone in 44^th place at nine-over par 219 (70-74-75). Junior Spencer Shoemaker competed as an individual and tied for 64^th place at 16-over par 226 (80-73-73).

Toledo returns to action next week when it travels to Carmel, Ind. for the Indiana's Crooked Stick Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 16-17.
