Bowling Green, OH – The Toledo women's swimming and diving team kicked off its 2015-16 season tonight at Bowling Green's Tom Stubbs Relays.

The Midnight Blue & Gold faced off against Youngstown State, Oakland and Mid-American Conference members Bowling Green and reigning MAC Champion Akron.

"I thought our team did a really nice job today," said head coach Jonas Persson. "We made some changes, took some risks in the races, and did it all with a positive attitude. We are focusing on ourselves and doing our best every single race, and that's what I feel like we did today. We have a lot of work to do and we are motivated to keep on training hard."

The Rockets touched second in both the 3x100 backstroke and 3x500 freestyle. UT managed to place third in the 800 freestyle and fourth in the 200 medley, 400 medley and 3x100 breaststroke.

Toledo will host its annual Blue/Gold intrasquad meet next Saturday, Oct. 15 at 10:00 a.m. at the UT Student Rec Center.
