UT Raised Over $11,000 for Susan G. Komen & Eleanor Dana Cancer Center

TOLEDO, OH - The University of Toledo women's basketball team made another impressive contribution to Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Northwest Ohio and the Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center at its 10th-annual "Rockets For the Cure" game on Feb. 13. The Rockets raised $11,016.96 for cancer research, marking the seventh-straight season they have collected at least $11,000.
Former WTOL news anchor Chrys Peterson, the guest emcee for the eighth-consecutive year, announced raffle winners during timeouts and also told the crowd of 4,880 fans, more about Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Most in the crowd wore pink, including many who donned "Rockets for the Cause" t-shirts.
The pink Nike jerseys that UT wore were made specially for that game against Ohio. Five of the uniforms that were auctioned off after the contest went for more than $500, including a high of $800 for senior Ana Capotosto.
