Toledo Finishes in 12th Place at Colleton River Collegiate

BLUFFTON, SC – Toledo concluded play at the Colleton River Collegiate in 12th place on Tuesday. The tournament took place on a Pete Dye Course at the Colleton River Plantation Club (Par-72, 7,166 Yards) and was hosted by Michigan State University.
The Rockets posted a team-score of 81-over par 945 (313-319-313) during the course of the last two days.
Senior Otto Black (76-74-74) paced UT at eight-over par 224 and tied for 12th place. Sophomore Stephen Watts (74-82-77) finished nine strokes behind Black at 17-over par 233 and tied for 44th spot, followed by freshmen Jamie Knipe (80-83-82) and Spencer Shoemaker at 29-over par 245 to tie for 73rd spot. Rounding out Toledo's lineup was sophomore Colin Joseph (84-81-89), who posted a three-round score of 38-over par 254 and finished in 88th place. Â
In addition, freshman Cameron Mills (78-80-89) competing as an individual in this week's event and tallied a mark of 31-over par to finish tied for79th spot.
The College of Charleston (297-292-302) secured the team title at 27-over par 891 and held a two-stroke advantage over runner-up Memphis (300-301-292) at 29-over par 893.
Individually, Memphis' Thomas Perrot (73-70-74) captured medalist honors at one-over par 217, one stroke ahead of Xavier's Jose Montano (74-71-73) at two-over par 218.
The Rockets will return to the links on Saturday-Sunday, March 12-13 when they take part in the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular in Howey in the Hills, FL.
